Martinborough’s Christmas parade, held yesterday, was the biggest we’ve seen.
The nativity scene sets off from St Andrews Church, beside our house.
Wairarapa Fern & Thistle Pipe Band, from Masterton, getting ready to lead the parade.
Waiting for the parade to start, we walked up to the Square and into Kitchener Street, where It’s Quite Cool gelato bar was doing a good trade on a very warm day.
Also enjoying the fine day were patrons of 101 Bar, in the old Post Office.
The procession reaches The Square, passing Pain & Kershaw’s grocery shop.
The floats were anything but elaborate, but a good time was had by their participants, local businesses got a plug and the kids got plenty of lollies.
Exciting stuff for local kids and their dads.
The pipe band playing carols.
Little cheerleaders heading home after the parade.
